Console Users ( Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch), Please Read:

All consoles can join third-party servers, such as Libre Galaxy Games. However, a workaround is required as console editions of Minecraft do not have the + Add Server feature enabled. Here are two workarounds to try and an explanation of why they work:

DNS Method (Recommended)

The Domain Name System (DNS) acts like the internet's phonebook, translating human-friendly domain names (such as www.google.com) into numerical IP addresses (like 54.39.107.181) so that computers can locate and connect to websites and other internet resources. To continue the analogy, there are various phone books to choose from, known as DNS servers.

Since your device requests information from preconfigured DNS servers (editable in settings) when connecting to internet resources, these providers can help by redirecting your connection from one web resource to another (usually to prevent users from connecting to known malicious websites).

While console users can't directly add new Minecraft servers, they're allowed to join partnered Minecraft servers, such as The Hive. When using this method, you change the analogous phonebook, so when you connect to a partnered server, your connection gets redirected to a third-party server with a menu that can then transfer you to the server you want to join (hopefully Libre Galaxy Games).

Not Working?

Ensure you're using a valid Primary DNS IP listed on https://github.com/Pugmatt/BedrockConnect under the "List of Servers" section.

Here is a known working combination as of September 2025:

Primary DNS: 104.238.130.180

Secondary DNS: 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare DNS)

Add Friend Method

Minecraft allows you to join the world of friends you've added on Xbox Live. There are automated accounts you can add as an Xbox Live friend that host worlds that display a menu to transfer you to the server you want to join. Due to Xbox Live limits, player slots may be full, and you may need to keep re-adding the automatic accounts as friends.

Please view the official documentation for this method here (look under '"Add Friend" Method'): https://github.com/Pugmatt/BedrockConnect

Frequently Asked Questions

Which edition of Minecraft do I have?

You can determine which edition of Minecraft you have by opening the game's main menu and viewing the logo at the top.

You have Minecraft: Java Edition if the top logo says Minecraft with Java Edition below.

You have Minecraft: Bedrock Edition if the top logo says just Minecraft

I have Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and there is no Add Server button

This is an expected issue for game consoles. Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch artificially restrict your ability to choose the servers you want to play on. In other words, they only have partnered Minecraft servers available by default.

Please visit the official Geyser documentation (software we use for cross-platform support) for the steps to work around the restriction:

How does Libre Galaxy achieve cross-platform support?

Libre Galaxy Games runs on Minecraft: Java Edition server software. Players on Minecraft: Bedrock Edition can also connect because our server utilizes a free and open-source packet translation software called Geyser. It serves as a bridge that helps the different game protocols (Java Edition & Bedrock Edition) talk to each other.

Is the server joinable through Realms?

Libre Galaxy Games is a server, not a Minecraft Realm. Please follow the directions for your edition.
